Student Services Coordinator

Southwestern Law School is seeking a Student Services Coordinator to assist with the maintenance of processes and programs that promote student success and retention. This position serves as the Student Service Office’s primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, and is responsible for problem-solving, addressing inquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate department for further assistance. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Student Services and is an on-campus position with some remote work available.    

Primary Responsibilities

  • Promptly responds to a high volume of student, faculty, and staff inquiries and ensures follow-up.
  • Raises awareness regarding student concerns that may interfere with academic success to the Associate Dean for Student Services.
  • Assists with reviewing and processing various requests, including Practical Training of Law Students certification, letters of standing, jury duty letters, credit/no credit increase, overload/underload, audits, grade point average verifications, background verifications, employment verifications, and others.
  • Collaborates with other departments to process approved student requests and provide additional assistance.
  • Tracks Southwestern’s attendance policy by preparing and reviewing the attendance report and contacting students who have exceeded the allowed number of absences. Prepares administrative withdrawal notifications.
  • Participates in events for entering and current students as a form of support and student engagement.
  • Files forms, notices, and letters in student files.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Southwestern’s policies and procedures as they pertain to maintaining student privacy.
  • Prepares written materials for communicating information to students regarding events and other opportunities.
  • Manages scheduling of students to meet with academic advisors.
  • Manages the Student Services Office staff calendars and schedules student meetings, administrative meetings, conferences, events, and other.
  • Processes credit authorizations and the purchases of office supplies, conference registrations, food for events, and others.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in student, academic, or administrative services.​

  • Comfort with a fast-paced academic environment

Salary: $23.25/hr.
