Student Services Assistant, Career Services Office
The Student Services Assistant is the first point of contact for students and alumni and provides support for much of the daily operations of the Career Services Office. The ideal candidate is a versatile self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision and able to coordinate and manage multiple assignments and projects successfully and creatively while interacting with a variety of constituencies. The Student Services Assistant will report to the Director of Career Services. This is an in-person and non-exempt position with some remote work available.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Opens and closes the Office
- Manages telephone and reception
- Handles job announcements, postings, and employer submissions
- Prepares weekly CSO newsletters to students and recent graduates
- Coordinates CSO events and programs
- Manages reciprocity requests
- Creates marketing materials
- Manages Career Office social media accounts and creates content highlighting student & alumni successes
- Processes documents and manages databases
- Creates graphic designs and desktop publishing
- Schedules counseling appointments for students and alumni
- Maintains the CSO virtual library, which includes, career guides and resources; CSO website; CSO portal; and CSO Canvas page.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in student, academic, or administrative services in a legal, school, or general business setting.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good judgment
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Proficiency in computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)
- A passion for, and commitment to, delivering exceptional customer service.
Salary: $21.64/hour
