The Opportunity

Southwestern Law School, founded in 1911 to open the doors of legal education to under-represented students, now seeks an early-career digital marketer to help power the next phase of that mission. You’ll run day-to-day campaigns that attract prospective students to all of our J.D. programs, with particular emphasis on the nation’s first full-time Online J.D. program.

If you can take a creative brief, build the ads, draft the emails, tell a great story, and pull the numbers without breaking a sweat, and you’re hungry to grow into a strategist, we’d like to meet you. We’ll provide mentoring, a professional development allowance, and a supportive, results-driven culture.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Paid Advertising – Set up and optimize Meta, Google, and LinkedIn campaigns; flag performance insights for the CMO.
  • Email Marketing – Draft, schedule, and QA recruitment messages and nurture sequences; keep lists clean and compliant.
  • Creative Production – Turn briefs into ads, short-form videos, and simple graphics in Canva (or a tool you prefer).
  • Social Collaboration – Provide enrollment-focused copy and assets to the Assistant Director, who owns the editorial calendar; sync timing around application pushes.
  • Analytics & Reporting – Track clicks, leads, and cost metrics; deliver crisp weekly snapshots and end-of-cycle reports.
  • Segmentation & Testing – Help slice audiences (Online, SCALE, Full-Time) and run A/B tests on subject lines, visuals, and offers.
  • AI in Practice – Use platform automations and tools such as ChatGPT to draft copy variants, surface audience insights, and speed up routine tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Two or three years managing paid social, search, or email campaigns
  • Working knowledge of Meta Ads, Google Ads, and at least one email platform
  • Clear, adaptable writing; meticulous eye for detail
  • Comfort with core metrics (CTR, CPC, open rate, conversion rate) and basic spreadsheets
  • Well-organized, deadline-driven, and quick to learn new tech

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Search Engine Optimization
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted marketing tools and/or platform-native automations
  • Experience in higher ed, nonprofit, or other mission-driven environments
  • Light video-editing skills for Reels/TikTok-style content

Why Southwestern?

  • Mission with Impact – One of the country’s most diverse law schools, still expanding access after 113 years.
  • Flexible Work – Remote or hybrid schedules plus early Fridays all year.
  • Excellent Benefits – Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
