Lisa M. Gear is the Associate Dean for Admissions at Southwestern Law School, where she is chiefly responsible for the enrollment of full-time, part-time, and accelerated students as well as the admission of transfer and visiting applicants.

Dean Gear earned her bachelor's degree from Scripps College in Claremont, California. 

Prior to joining Southwestern’s admissions office, she worked in the law school’s office of student affairs, office of career services, and office of the dean. 

In her present position, she manages the entering student scholarship model, the scholarship awarding process, conducts file review and oversees the interview processes for applicants each cycle. Dean Gear also oversees more than 50 yield events each year. Working closely with the communication office, Dean Gear also coordinates print, electronic and social media marketing for the law school and admissions process. 

In her nearly 25 years of service with LSAC, Dean Gear has also served as a panelist for numerous LSAC Law Forums, a member of the Annual Meeting and Educational Conference Planning Committee, a faculty member at the Newcomers Workshop, was a member of the Information Services Division Advisory Group (ISDAG), Misconduct and Irregularities in the Admissions Process Sub-Committee and the Professional Development Planning Work Group. Outside of her role at the law school Dean Gear has served on the Alumnae Leadership Committee at Scripps College as the Admissions Liaison and has served in an unofficial pre-law advisor capacity.
