Professor Arman Avagyan is an Associate Professor of Law and serves as the Faculty Director of the Academy for Leadership in the Legal Profession. He teaches in Southwestern’s bar preparation and foundational lawyering-skills curricula, including Bar Skills & Strategies and Foundations of Law & Practice.
As a Southwestern alumnus, Professor Avagyan brings a student-centered approach to academic success and bar preparation. His teaching focuses on helping students turn doctrine, legal analysis, and exam writing into concrete, repeatable skills. He works with students from their earliest law school skills courses through bar readiness, emphasizing clear organization, precise rule use, disciplined fact analysis, and professional confidence.

In addition to his teaching, Professor Avagyan is active in the American Inns of Court as an Academic Master in the Southwestern Law School Inn of Court, where he serves on the Executive Committee. He also serves as the co-faculty advisor for the Armenian Law Students Association.
Before joining Southwestern full-time, Professor Avagyan practiced civil litigation in Southern California, including professional and general liability matters involving healthcare practitioners, groups, health maintenance organizations, and healthcare facilities. He previously worked at Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman and Cron, Israels & Stark.
