David Diamond

Professor Diamond has conducted more than 500 jury and bench trials since becoming a lawyer in 2000.  Professor Diamond studied politics and economics at Michigan State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School (SCALE).     

Professor Diamond began his career with the litigation firm of Lewis Brisbois and then Diamond, Burt and Akhkashian until he opened his own firm, the Law Offices of David D. Diamond. He is a criminal defense attorney and litigates restraining orders and has provided a State Bar approved MCLE lecture in said field.  He also serves as a Grade IV panel attorney for IDCO (Los Angeles County Independent Defense Counsel Office) for indigent defendants. 

Professor Diamond was the founder and co-director of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ) Trial Advocacy Competition, often assisting with the drafting of the fictitious trial problem for use in the nationwide law school competition. He has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court for over ten years. 

A graduate of the SCALE program at Southwestern Law School, Professor Diamond competed in the Honors Trial Advocacy Program as a student and has returned to coach several teams for competition and give lectures on “Confidence in the Courtroom”.
