Debbie Leathers has devoted over four decades of service to Southwestern, starting as an Assistant to the Dean before transitioning to the Development office in 1983, where she primarily focused on alumni relations. She was promoted to the position of Director of Development in 1987 and in this role, Debbie successfully managed both fundraising efforts and alumni relations. Her efforts have significantly contributed to the increase in financial support received by the law school and the active engagement of alumni.  Debbie coordinated the capital campaign that secured funding for the renowned Bullocks Wilshire building. Additionally, she spearheaded the highly successful New Era Campaign, which raised over $16m for the law school. Her dedication to the school's tradition and mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion is evident, as she actively fostered these values through her work in fundraising and alumni relations. Debbie also implemented various programs aimed at building strong relationships between alumni, students, faculty, and members of the community.  Before joining Southwestern, Debbie gained valuable experience working at the Centralia School District in Orange County, where she held several positions across different capacities.
