The course is an intensive, accelerated version of the Trial Advocacy course. It is held in person for several hours each school day over two weeks in May during the Extended Summer Term, and then it continues with online sessions through the second week of July.
Like the Trial Advocacy course, Accelerated Trial Advocacy introduces fundamental trial techniques for preparing witnesses, jury selection, direct examination, cross-examination, the use of expert witnesses, the introduction of exhibits, the use of demonstrative aids, and the delivery of opening statements and closing arguments. Simulations are used throughout the course, leading to each student participating in a full mock trial.
