Southwestern Alumni Earn Top Honors on 2025 Southern California Super Lawyers Lists
Only law school with multiple graduates in the Top 10; ranks #2 overall for Top 100 selections.
Southwestern Law School alumni once again secured a strong showing on the 2025 Southern California Super Lawyers lists, with 14 graduates named to the Top 100, the second-highest total among all law schools represented.
Three Southwestern alumni, J. Bernard Alexander III ’86, Arash Homampour ’92, and Brian J. Panish ’84, were ranked in the Top 10, making Southwestern the only law school with more than one graduate in that tier. Alexander is recognized as a leading trial lawyer in employment and civil rights litigation, known for representing workers in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases. Homampour has built a national reputation handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters, securing multiple nine-figure verdicts for plaintiffs. Panish is one of the country’s most accomplished attorneys in complex product liability and mass tort litigation, with a track record that includes some of the largest personal injury verdicts in U.S. history. Together, their recognition highlights the scope and influence of Southwestern alumni across the most demanding areas of trial practice.
Southwestern graduates were also recognized in key demographic and regional categories. Five alumnae, Marta Ann Alcumbrac ’96, Lourdes DeArmas ’00, Marina Kats Fraigun ’97, Megan E. Green ’03, and Diana P. Zitser ’97, were named to the Top 50 Women list. Richard H. Golubow ’92 and Saar Swartzon ’98 appeared on the Top 50 Orange County list.
“In one of the most competitive legal markets in the country, Southwestern alumni continue to stand out,” said Darby Dickerson, President and Dean of Southwestern Law School. “They’ve earned these honors through skill, tenacity, and a deep commitment to their clients.”
Selection to the Super Lawyers list is based on a patented multiphase process that includes in-state peer nominations, independent third-party research across 12 criteria, and peer evaluations by practice-area panels. Final lists are capped at the top 5% of lawyers.
