Southwestern Law School Announces Christina S. Sorfazian as 2026 Student Commencement Speaker
Christina S. Sorfazian will serve as the student speaker for Southwestern Law School’s 111th annual Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Rose Bowl.
Sorfazian, who earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA, has built a foundation for legal practice through experience externing with the Los Angeles Superior Court and clerking for Shegerian Conniff LLP and Baghdassarian Law Group, P.C. Before law school, she worked as a legal assistant with Sogomonyan Law Group, APC.
During law school, Sorfazian distinguished herself through student leadership, advocacy, and service to the law school community. She was a board member of the Negotiation Honors Program, served as a class representative to the Student Bar Association and a Peer Mentor, held leadership roles with the Armenian Law Student Association, and served as president of the Consumer Law Society. “Being selected as commencement speaker for the graduating class of 2026 is an incredible honor and something deeply meaningful to me,” Sorfazian said. “Southwestern became such a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly lucky to have gone through law school alongside such hardworking, supportive, and inspiring classmates. One of the things I love most about Southwestern is that everyone had a different path through law school, yet we all came together as a community.”
After graduation, Sorfazian intends to practice litigation, with interests in surrogacy and reproductive law, family law, dependency, and civil litigation. She also hopes to remain connected to Southwestern’s Negotiation Honors Program by mentoring students and judging competitions.
Beyond Southwestern, Sorfazian is active in her church community and co-founded AlumLaws, an alumni law organization affiliated with AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School, to connect graduates in the legal field with current students interested in legal careers.
