Kathy M. Lombard '97

Kathy Lombard has been a solo practitioner for almost twenty years (Law Offices of Kathy M. Lombard), representing a broad range of entertainment clients. In television and film she has performed legal services in connection with the following: Taylor Swift (Hub), America Are You Normal (Own), Rush Zone (Nicktoons), Iesodo (Zaya Toonz), Pictureka (Hub), Hubworld (Hub), CMT’s Next Country Star (CMT), Live From The Buffalo Chip/Gregg Allman and George Thorogood (HD Net) Psych (USA), Biggest Loser (NBC), Boys of Summer (ESPN), Nashville Star (USA), Signing Time (PBS), Temptation Island (Fox), Trading Spouses (Fox), Ballers (BET), Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé (Fox); The Making of Menudo (MTV/Tres), Change/Over (The Tennis Channel) Identity (NBC), Reality Remix (Fox Reality); Joe Millionaire (Fox), M*A*S*H 30 Year Reunion Special (Fox). In addition to her work as production counsel, Kathy represents executive producers Eric Rollman (former President Marvel Entertainment), Sherry Gunther Shugerman (Beatrix Girls, Family Guy, Simpsons) Marza Animation Planet (Sonic the Hedgehog), Capcom (Streetfighter), In Motion Entertainment (SeaWorld), Scott Helmstedter (Wildlife Docs), Bob Boden (Freemantle, Hasbro, Game Show Network, Fox Reality), and Natural 9 Entertainment (DreamQuest, Wildlife Docs).

Kathy is also legal counsel to several companies specializing in live events and musical theatre. She currently provides legal counsel to SenovvA (the Oscars, Kid’s Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards), McCoy-Rigby Entertainment, producers of the national tours of Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby, Jekyll & Hyde, Camelot starring LouDiamond Phillips, Gary Marshall’s Happy Days and the SenovvA production of “Fellowship: The Musical Parody of the Fellowship of the Ring” which runs to sold out audiences in Los Angeles. Kathy also represents Tom McCoy, artistic director of the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Kathy also has successfully litigated and settled high profile idea disclosure/copyright infringement, employment and breach of contract cases.

Prior to starting her solo practice, Kathy was employed in the music departments of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp and the Codikow & Carroll firm where she worked on behalf of songwriters, publishers and talent. Prior to beginning her legal career, Kathy worked in the music business as Director of Copyrights and Licensing for Atlantic Records in New York and in printed music at Music Sales/G. Schirmer.

She has a music degree from NYU and graduated from Southwestern Law School where she earned Moot Court writing honors. She is author of the book Rock Riffs For Keyboard.
