This course is an introduction to basic principles of the law of real and personal property. Using the concepts of "boundary," "claim," and "control," students discover the principles that underlie all areas of the law.

The course covers such areas as how property claims arise; the law of landed estates and future interests; easements and licenses; restrictive covenants and equitable servitudes; gifts and conveyances; adverse possession; risk of loss; abandonment; law of chattels, including bailments and lost/mislaid property; zoning and other forms of state regulation; eminent domain; nuisances; and fixtures.
