Student Support

The Southwestern community takes great pride in the diversity and accomplishments of its students, their commitment to intellectual challenge and growth, and their public outreach efforts. Southwestern's students bring an extensive array of academic backgrounds, unique work experiences and diverse cultural perspectives to the law school community. Recent entering classes, for example, include students who are fluent in over two dozen languages and represent more than 100 colleges and universities around the U.S. and several foreign countries. Women represent 51 percent and 39 percent are ethnic minorities.

So that Southwestern may continue to attract and retain a diverse and talented population of students, a strong financial aid program must be maintained. Scholarship and loan programs open the doors of opportunity for students who would not otherwise be able to afford a quality legal education, as well as for high achieving students whose contributions to Southwestern's Moot Court, Negotiation and Trial Advocacy Honors Programs, Law Review, Law Journal and community outreach efforts would not be possible without such financial support.

Additional scholarship and grant assistance as well as low interest loan programs will help ease the burden of students' education-related debt and provide opportunities to enhance their educational experience.
