The Immigration Law Students Association (ILSA) was founded to provide a means for Southwestern students interested in the practice or field of immigration law to:
- learn about current trends in immigration law and practice;
- hear from and meet immigration practitioners;
- network with Southwestern students interested in the topic; and
- support efforts by Southwestern to meet immigration needs in the local community.
Past events included presentations by a Southwestern Alum and Immigration Judge Gembacz, and a panel of local practitioners specializing in asylum work, criminal immigration detention, unaccompanied minors, and Asian-American immigrations matters. Future events will include panels on careers within impact litigation particularly involving immigration amongst other exciting ways to help educate the community around Southwestern regarding DACA and DAPA.
Be sure to sign up on our TWEN page to receive emails regarding campus events and more.
