Family & Dependency Law Society

Membership in the Family & Dependency Law Society is open to all Southwestern students. The purpose of the Society is to give members a practical understanding of family law problems and solutions through interaction with family law professionals and academicians.

Each meeting of the Family & Dependency Law Society features a presentation by a guest speaker followed by a question and answer session. Former speakers include Dennis Wasser and Stephen Kolodny, opposing attorneys in the Kirk Kerkorian case; J.E. Aeliot Boswell, recognized authority in international custody disputes; Stacy D. Phillips, well-known family law practitioner with many celebrity clients; and Donald B. King, Justice of California Court of Appeal, First District.
