The Entertainment and Sports Law Society is an organization formed to introduce Southwestern students to various aspects of the entertainment and sports industries, emphasizing entertainment and sports law. We are one of the largest and most active organizations on campus and are looking for new members who are eager to join.
The upcoming academic year will be event-filled, and we encourage your participation. General meetings will be held every two to four weeks, with committees meeting more frequently to enable us to plan a number of successful events. The current list of events presently being planned includes:
- SPEAKER SERIES - Lectures by professors and attorneys practicing in various areas of the industry who will speak about topics of interest to students. Previous speakers have included prominent music-industry attorneys, as well as general counsel from professional sports teams and production companies.
- SOCIAL EVENTS - An Entertainment and Sports Law Society party, mixers, faculty & alumni events, studio visit, and/or any activity of your choice...we're open to your suggestions and ideas.
The Society is on campus not only for social purposes but also to help those interested in getting involved in the "industry" learn who to contact and how to get into "the business."
Meeting and event notices will be posted throughout the school. Your participation is not only welcomed but greatly needed.
