Environmental Law Forum

The Environmental Law Forum is composed of students and faculty who are interested in increasing environmental scholarship and awareness.

Environmental concerns have long occupied the attention and resources of our society and government. The Environmental Law Forum strives to introduce its membership to all areas of environmental law. Many of these issues include environmental legislation, regulation, regulatory agencies, litigation, and criminal enforcement.

The primary goals of the Environmental Law Forum are to promote individual interest, study, and involvement in the field of environmental law; to disseminate information and knowledge about environmental law; to review current environmental issues; to encourage discussion of environmental issues; and to promote greater understanding of environmental concerns.

Environmental Law Forum events mainly consist of hosting environmental speakers, many of whom are representatives of leading government and private environmental organizations. The Environmental Law Forum has helped increase environmental awareness at Southwestern, including promoting Southwestern's recycling program and collecting food for various drives.

All Southwestern students are invited to join the Environmental Law Forum, and non-member students are invited to attend presentations sponsored by the Forum. Because the issues are complex, the interests diverse and the solutions not always clear, the Environmental Law Forum strives for a balanced position on environmental issues, but fosters the expression of diverse viewpoints. We look forward to your active participation.
