Understanding the Law School Admission Process
Saturday, September 12th
4 - 6 p.m.
Southwestern Law School Campus
At this free seminar in conjunction with Blueprint LSAT Preparation, attendees will get tips on the LSAT and applying to law school, and will be eligible for raffle prizes and program discounts.
4 p.m. - Mock Admissions Committee
Southwestern Law School wants to help you understand what law schools discuss during an Admissions Committee Meeting. We want you to be on the Admissions Committee! The Mock Admissions Committee will teach you the intricacies of how a law school application is reviewed. The Assistant Dean of Admissions and a Southwestern faculty member from our Admissions Committee will provide an in-depth perspective on how to put together the best possible law school application. Specific tips on writing personal statements and soliciting letters of recommendation will also be highlighted.
5 p.m. - Choose Your Breakout Session:
A) A Blueprint LSAT Preparation instructor will talk about the importance of the LSAT, what to expect on the exam, and what type of scores law schools are looking for. Attendees will then have a chance to take a look at real LSAT questions and the instructor will provide tips on how to approach them, demonstrating just how different the LSAT is compared to other standardized tests.
B) The Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program, Trial Advocacy Honors Program, and Negotiations Honors Program will provide live demonstrations with Q&A to follow. Come learn about the skills you acquire from taking part in a law school honors program.
6 p.m. - Reception with Faculty, Honors Program Student Leaders, and Peer Mentors
Southwestern is providing all attendees with complimentary parking, application-fee waivers, and a raffle ticket for a book scholarship. Blueprint LSAT Preparation will provide all attendees with a $400 discount on a future Blueprint course. They will also raffle off 2 gift certificates, each for 2 hour sessions of tutoring. Plus they will give away 5 copies of The Blueprint for LSAT Logic Games, a standalone Logic Games instruction text.
