Prior to completing the Financial Aid Application, students are advised to carefully read the Financial Aid information on this site.
To apply for Financial Aid, follow these steps:
- Complete the FAFSA online.
- Complete the Southwestern Financial Aid Application below.
- If this is your first time receiving Financial Aid at Southwestern, you must complete the required Entrance Couseling online.
Select the form for the academic year you wish to receive aid:
You may print the application using your browser's print function and collect the information in advance before entering it on the form, or refer to the Application Worksheet (PDF).
- Apply for 2010-11 Financial Aid
(Summer 2010, Fall 2010, Spring 2011)
SCALE students may disregard the portion of question 1A in the Student Information section referring to the number of units for each semester. - Apply for 2009-10 Financial Aid
(Summer 2009, Fall 2009, Spring 2010)
Note: Due to the nature of various browsers, it is recommended NOT to use the "Enter" key after typing each field (i.e. name, address, telephone number). Using the "Enter" key may submit the application before it is completed.

You may sign up for Automated Refund Direct Deposit through WebAdvisor (go to Financial Information > Bank Information).
Institutional Scholarship Application
Please note that Institutional Scholarships are only for Continuing Students. Entering Students should refer to the information on Special Scholarships and contact the Admissions Office with any related questions.
If you wish to be considered for Institutional Scholarships, you must complete the following steps:
- FAFSA*
- Financial Aid Application for the current academic year*
- An Institutional Scholarship Application (PDF)
- A letter addressed to the Scholarship Committee detailing your qualifications for each scholarship selected on the application. Please also explain any circumstances the committee should consider during the selection process.
Please note: You only need to fill out ONE Institutional Scholarship Application per year. On the application, check the name of each scholarship for which you would like to be considered. In the letter, please note how you meet the criteria for each scholarship selected on the application.
