Who should I contact if I become ill and cannot attend class, and how will this be handled under the attendance policy?

Students who become ill should use good common sense, seeking the care of medical professionals and staying home when necessary. Absences will generally be covered within the 20% attendance policy; exceptions to this rule will be made on a case by case basis. Students who are ill are encouraged to contact individual faculty members to notify them that they will be absent from class. Students who believe that as a result of their illness they will exceed the 20% absence limit must notify individual faculty as well as the Dean of Students and Diversity Affairs Office.
