New Student Residents Make Plans for Their New Home in the Residences on 7th
As the finishing touches are being made on Southwestern's beautiful new on-campus student residences, future residents are taking tours and choosing their units. Now that the scaffolding has been removed, the distinctive architecture of the complex is evident. Built-ins and custom furnishings are being installed, and vibrant contemporary design elements are adding character to the community spaces.
Lauren Falk, who will be a new 1L at Southwestern this fall, recently visited The Residences and chose her one bedroom apartment. She is looking forward to having a new place of her own right on campus. "I am so excited to move into a brand new state-of-the-art apartment complex that is not only safe and secure, but extremely convenient for me," she said. "I know that living on campus will enhance my law school experience and enable me to involve myself in every aspect of Southwestern."
Lauren's mother, Melissa Siefer '79, was also impressed with the accommodations and excited for her daughter, who is following in her footsteps at Southwestern. (Pictured above, Siefer and Falk don hardhats for a tour of Southwestern's on-campus residences.)
"My recent visit to the school with Lauren was my first in many years and I was extremely impressed by the vast range of improvements, from the expansion of buildings and space, to the level of technology, to the real campus feel and, ultimately, to the student residences," Siefer said. "I think The Residences were the icing on the cake for us because we felt so comfortable about Lauren's living situation. Few law schools offer this enticing option. As I stood there in front of the construction site reflecting upon the fact that my own experience with the school was positive despite much more limited surroundings, I thought about just how much better it will be for Lauren. For the first time, I found myself wishing I were back in law school!"
