Annual Entertainment and Media Law Conference to Cover Issues in the New Digital Environment
Continuing digital advances and the proliferation of devices and applications have made it possible to view television and film just about anywhere at any time. It has also created many new issues related to copyright and regulation. These issues, as well as an exploration of the right-of-publicity claims, will be considered at the 10th Annual Entertainment and Media Law Conference presented by Southwestern's Biederman Institute and the Media Law Resource Center (MLRC). The conference will be held on Thursday, January 17 at Loews Hollywood Hotel.Three discussion panels will be presented:
- "TV Everywhere - Copyright Protection Nowhere or Somewhere?"
- "Content without Borders: Issues in International Production and Distribution"
- "Rights (and Wrongs) of Publicity: The Evolving Law of Misappropriation"

The event, offering four hours of CLE credit, is scheduled from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Registration fees are $100 by January 7, $125 after January 7 (or at the door as space permits), and $25 for non-Southwestern students; Southwestern students are complimentary but an RSVP is required.
