Court of Appeal to Hold a Special Session at Southwestern

The California Court of Appeal, 2nd District - Division 4 will be holding a special session in Southwestern's Julian C. Dixon Courtroom and Advocacy Center on Thursday, February 8, 2007. The visit is designed to introduce first-year law students to the appellate court system. Case summaries prepared by the court are available in the Leigh H. Taylor Law Library and will be distributed before oral argument. The Southwestern community, as well as the general public, are invited to attend.

This collaborative effort has been made possible by Presiding Justice Norman Epstein; Associate Justices Thomas Willhite, Nora Manella and Steven Suzukawa of the Court of Appeal; SBA President Greg Mohrman; and Dean Bryant Garth. As part of this educational program, the justices will also attend a luncheon with students.

The case to be argued follows.

Inman v. Superior Nissan of Puente Hills, B182717.
The issue is whether the trial court erred in granting summary judgment against appellant on her complaint for negligent entrustment of a vehicle where the parties dispute whether the driver was intoxicated.
