Biederman Institute to Offer Cambridge Summer Program
In an exciting new addition to Southwestern’s academic program, the Donald E. Biederman National Entertainment and Media Law Institute will offer its first International Entertainment and Media Law Program at Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge, England in summer 2004. The program, which will run from June 28 to August 1, will offer students the opportunity to earn up to six units of credit by selecting among four courses: International Entertainment Law, International and Comparative Media Law, International Sports Law and International Art Law. Each will be taught by distinguished U.S. and British faculty with extensive international experience. The program will take advantage of its proximity to London, a major entertainment, media and cultural center, through field excursions to a variety of local institutions, as well as guest lectures and visits with some of the city’s leading entertainment and media law practitioners. Classes will meet four days a week, allowing students ample opportunity to explore London and other European cities. The program is designed to meet all ABA requirements for Foreign Summer Programs and Southwestern is seeking approval from the ABA. Additional information will be available soon.
