Southwestern Honored with National Higher Education Diversity Award for a Second Year
INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has announced that Southwestern is among the schools to receive the 2013 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award. In its second year, HEED honors U.S. colleges and universities demonstrating an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Southwestern was once again one of just two law schools on the list - and the only law school to be honored for a second year - among the 55 academic institutions. A full story on the award and its recipients is featured in the magazine's November 2013 issue. "We are honored that Southwestern's deep commitment to diversity and inclusion has again been recognized by INSIGHT Into Diversity. It's a testament to how many on our campus 'get it' - we understand that inclusion and access is critical to meeting the needs of today's legal profession," said Dean Austen Parrish. "The future of the legal profession is one that embraces a diversity of talent, and we are proud that Southwestern contributes to that future by providing opportunities for a wide range of individuals to obtain a first-rate legal education."
