Degree Requirements

J.D./Masters of Business Administration

Southwestern students concurrently pursuing the J.D./Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree can:

  • apply 16 units earned at the law school to the 60 units required for the M.B.A.
  • apply 16 units earned at Drucker to the 87 units required for the J.D.
  • complete both degrees within four to four-and-a-half years

J.D./Professional M.B.A.

A 52-unit Professional J.D./M.B.A. (P.M.B.A.) is another option for law students with five years of work experience, including at least one year in a supervisory position. Students who select this option can:

  • apply 10 units earned at Drucker toward the J.D.
  • apply 10 units earned at Southwestern toward the P.M.B.A.


J.D./Executive M.B.A.

Students with extensive management experience can choose the 48-unit Executive J.D./M.B.A. (E.M.B.A.) track and can:

  • apply 10 units earned at Southwestern toward the E.M.B.A.
  • apply 10 units earned at Drucker toward the J.D.
