Legal Analysis, Writing & Skills II (LAWS II)

Description

This is a two-semester course in which students receive instruction in legal writing and research. Legal writing covers legal reasoning, analysis, and writing skills, including organization, rhetorical strategies, style and mechanics. Legal research, taught by law librarians, covers research sources and strategies. During the fall semester, the emphasis is on objective writing and legal memoranda. The spring semester focuses on persuasive writing, culminating in the Intramural Moot Court Competition.
