Interdisciplinary Programs

J.D./M.B.A or J.D./M.A.M. with The Drucker Graduate School of Management

Southwestern has joined forces with The Drucker Graduate School of Management to create concurrent-degree programs that will expand students' educational and career options. Students at Southwestern and the Drucker School, part of Claremont Graduate University (CGU), will be able to earn a J.D. and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), a J.D. and Master of Arts in Management (M.A.M.), or a J.D. and Executive Master of Business Administration* (E.M.B.A.).

*J.D./E.M.B.A. may be an option for students with extensive management experience.

J.D./M.A. or B.A./J.D. with California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH)

Southwestern has established two programs in cooperation with California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH): a joint J.D./M.A. Program, and a 3+3 Program through which students can earn their B.A. and J.D. degrees in six years.

The Joint J.D./M.A. Program enables graduate students to complete a J.D. degree at Southwestern while concurrently earning an M.A. degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from CSUDH. The 3+3 Option Program allows selected CSUDH students who meet program requirements to enter law school at Southwestern after completing just three years of undergraduate study at CSUDH.

Certificate Programs in Law and Public Policy with the Pardee RAND Graduate School

Southwestern, in partnership with the Pardee RAND Graduate School (PRGS), will offer two exciting new law and public policy certificate programs to provide law students and public policy Ph.D. students the opportunity to complement their degree programs with a unique understanding of the interplay between the law and public policy.

Commencing in 2011, qualified Southwestern students can take courses in public policy at PRGS, leading to a "Certificate in Public Policy," and qualified students at PRGS can take courses at Southwestern, leading to a "Certificate in Legal Studies." These are not joint degree programs; instead, they are intended to provide participating students with a basic knowledge of law and public policy and an understanding of the tools and frameworks relevant to each field.
