Presentations will include:

"The Ethical Externship: California Rules and Application" presented by Sande Buhai (Loyola Law School) and Laura Fry (UC Irvine, School of Law)

The key ethical rules that students should consider during their externships will be discussed, as well as the rules and obligations that apply to students and attorneys working together as supervisors and externs.  This includes, confidentiality, conflicts and rules covering the duties of supervising and junior attorneys.

"The Competent Extern – from Start to Finish; Vital Signs of a Healthy Externship" presented by Anahid Gharakhanian (Southwestern Law School) and Malissa Barnwell-Scott (USC Gould School of Law)
Hear about externships from the student perspective as well as learn about problem solving for supervisors.  Objectives for student learning, specifically focusing on competencies at the outset and as they develop through the course of study outside the classroom, will be discussed.


There is no cost to attend but reservations are requested.
