Law and Rhetoric

Description

This course introduces students to both classical and modern theories of legal discourse. The course reviews the historical relationship between rhetoric and law and includes selected readings in the philosophy of language, especially as it relates to law. Students in the course will write two short assignments and a final essay. They will also make in-class presentations on assigned readings.

Legal Analysis, Writing & Skills I (LAWS I) and Legal Analysis, Writing & Skills II (LAWS II)
