Constitutional Law I



This course introduces students to the structural law of the Constitution through a study of the principles of separation of powers among the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the national government and between the national government and the states (federalism). Among the topics covered are the limits on the justiciability of constitutional claims the doctrine of judicial review, constitutional protections of the core independence of each branch, and constitutional provisions that force collaboration among the branches.
